I swear to God sometimes depression is a living entity that doesn't want to get killed. Rob, Nan is absolutely correct - it's up to you to take the step. And you really need to do it. Stop searching for reasons why it won't work based on absolutely nothing.

Try the local clinics. I first went for help after I was layed off from a job and didn't have two nickels to rub together. I managed to find some great help.

Also, I recommend picking up "The Feeling Good Handbook" by David Burns. It's a cognitive therapy book, and I think cognitive therapy will work for you. It will help combat the negative thinking that has paralyzed you.

You can pull through, but you have to WANT to pull through.

I was thinking the same thing. Where is he?

It's like a Passover Seder and he is Elijah. We should have an empty chair for him. smile.gif

QUOTE(VTmtngirl @ Jan 30 2006, 01:00 PM) *

I wouldn't want to relive my 20s for anything. Its a hard time in life and I suffered from very bad depression myself especially after the loss of my grandmother.

Its a stressful time because it is when people try to make their way in life and set goals. Sometimes those dreams are dashed, that is also extremely difficult, then they buy into the idea they are losers. Then add onto all that raging hormones, etc., lack of wealth (most people don't have money in their 20s) and trying to build relationships, it can be overwhelming. But it is never hopeless, not at that age and once it is learned that a failure or a problem can be overcome, things become easier.

Yea! So much to look forward to!!!

There is a lot to look forward to. The thirties are much better. Most people are more settled, more financially secure, having a clearer direction in life by their thirties. I am liking my thirties a whole lot more-- and you will, too! biggrin.gif

Yea I just gotta get some financial security, a family started, maybe a couple more years of school under my belt (possibly law school), and I think I'll be alright.

Well, this is what makes one's twenties so hard-- all these big things at once. And, of course, not everyone gets everything all nailed down by their 30s.
